CS 4

Sat Oct 3, 2009, 11:46 AM
Last weekend I installed CS4 the latest verson and wasted an entire afternoon cursing. Would not install until I upgraded Windows so I did that. Twenty minutes to download the patches then a hour as the blasted computer installed them. Now with Adobe I have no idea if all the crap they send (only realy wanted Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash) I actually need but dropped most into the machine so that took another chunk of time. This doesn't include the house cleaning done on the hardrive. Blasted thing runs like a bloated pig now.
Photoshop there doen't seem that much of a difference between 2 & 4. Slightly different organization, haven't done much experimenting yet but I'll work in it. Annoyances: I can't seem to find a clear button to make cleaning an area easier. The other aggrivation the fact that while painting it didn't seem to be doing anything when I was trying to put some highlights in. Then looking back in a lower magnification I realized that what I had just painted was somewhere else on the body.
I'll figure out something at some point.

New Idea for Popcicle

Fri Jun 26, 2009, 6:07 PM
Well much as it annoys me I came up with a better idea for the background in the Popcicle image the day after posting.

Quite happily working away while at work and then suddenly I remembered the KP episode where Drakken is selling icecream from the back of a truck. Putting two and two together instead of the tree lined park Dr. D could be selling some form of mind controlling iced beverages and leaning in the back watching with villianous delight as our poor Ms. Bon Bon happily sucks away on her popcicle.

Something to put aside for later.

New Record

Fri Feb 13, 2009, 1:55 PM
Well folkes a new record has been set on my site. It took less than 24 hrs for what was my best work to date to be removed as inapporiate. Not only that my one other Christmas sketch was removed the day before. So two down in just over a day. Makes me a little sad.

I've blocked a couple of names of known zelots but I guess they either got another name or they've collected those who are like minded and are breeding like an evil dark storm cloud blotting out all they think are unpure.

Well next semester the local collage is giving a coarse on web page design. I plan on taking it so some day I might have a site of my own so as to not suffer the indignity of closed minded individuals.

Enough whinning, I figured this would happen so had a plan on how to cover up poor Kimmy.

New Year, new update

Sat Jan 10, 2009, 1:31 PM
Well now that we're in a new year I figure I ought to say something. Lousy Christmas holiday, food poisoning and a busted car (600 bucks I didn't necessarily wish to spend) are the things that stand out the most about the time off.

In other news I went and spend most of the day at the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO). They had recently been closed for a year remodeling the place, several new floors have been added and a new front.
First floor is mostly European works dating back from when the gallery began collection about 100 yrs ago ranging from sculpture to paintings in no real order, just things that seem to work well together.
Basement is a collection of model boats from different eras, many done by French sailors captures during the Napoleon wars. Some are as small as a plate others the size of the whole dining table, many very intrically done using the same methods and materials as the original ship.
Second floor is the Canadiana section, images done by Canadian artists. A lot by the Group of Seven.
Third is a place where meeting could be held so nothing to see.
Forth and fifth were nothing but crap and took me about 5 minutes each to walk through, modern contempary art. The phrase "One born every minute" comes to mind when viewing this stuff. Bath mats thrown upon the floor, 4x4's staked with a vinal sheet tossed a top is not art it's a Colossal Waste of Money.

Things are returning to normal after the long holiday and looking forward to replacing the money spent over Christmas.
